Our Environmental Policy:

EPTCON is committed to environmental excellence in the performance of our business. We plan all work activities to mitigate the effects on the ground we work on and the waterways we work near. Many provincial regulations effect how our work is performed. EPTCON works closely with all agencies to ensure our operations comply with the many regulations that may apply to the work being performed.

All employees and subcontractors are made aware of the specific requirements or restrictions of each individual project prior to starting. Our employees have the experience to make the right decisions in the field. Our supervision ensures all activities are carried out in a responsible manner.

Environmental Guidelines

All operations will follow the EPTCON Environmental Policy. All operations on site will be performed to minimize the impact on the right-of-way.

No refuelling or maintenance of any vehicle or equipment within 30 meters (100 feet) of any watercourse.
No cutting of right-of-ways within 7.5 meters (25 feet) of any watercourse. Any large timber or merchantable timber that must be removed inside the 7.5 meter (25 foot) buffer zone will be done by hand or special approval if done mechanically.
No travelling through any rivers, creeks or streams. The use of bridges or temporary crossings (Swamp mats, ice bridge, temporary bridge) will be used
Swamp mats will be used when the terrain or permits require their use.
Wetland work will be scheduled for winter months where possible, to maximize work done in frozen conditions.
Low impact tracked vehicles will be used in areas sensitive to high ground pressure.
Waste materials will be properly disposed of according to the requirements of the Owner.
All work will occur to minimize surface runoff and erosion.
Erosion and sediment controls will be implemented as required.
Areas requiring seeding and or mulching will comply with requirements.
Remedial work will take place when most feasible.
Trails and roads will be maintained properly and returned as close to their original state as possible.
Follow all restrictions and precautions as directed through environmental permitting.
