YOU HAVE:

  • CPA designation; with a preference for CA stream candidates
  • 2-3 years of direct experience in an assistant controller, controller, or similar role;
  • Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft applications;
  • Detail oriented and ability to work both independently and in a group setting;
  • Knowledge of Timberline or Jonas software would be an asset; and,
  • Experience in the electrical construction industry would be considered an asset.

 

 

YOU WILL:

  • Update and maintain accounting working papers;
  • Conduct financial statement review and variance analysis;
  • Maintain GAAP/ASPE compliance;
  • Oversee internal control design and implementation;
  • Prepare for external audits;
  • Support sales & cash flow projections;
  • Perform Job cost analysis;
  • Prepare banking and bonding compliance
  • Act as final approval for A/R invoicing;
  • Coordinate major project documents;
  • Review annual reports – T4, WCB, EHT;
  • Oversee HST & Corporate tax remittances;
  • Ensure union agreement and employment standards compliance;
  • Review weekly payroll;
  • Administer corporate credit cards;
  • Approve electronic funds transfers;
  • Prepare the financial statement workbook, reviews SR&ED claims, conducts pricing analysis and other financial duties as required for sister company OneLine Engineering; and,
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

YOU HAVE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent;
  • Post-secondary education in Health & Safety would be considered an asset;
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation, Regulations and the COR process is a strong asset;
  • Experience or familiar with ISNetworld, Avetta and contractor prequalification is an asset;

  • Maintain and ensure accurate record keeping of health and safety compliance files using both electronic and hard copy systems and files;
  • Proof read and edit health and safety policies, procedures and site-specific documents;
  • Enter and track incident and accident reports and follow up information;
  • Assist in publishing and copying corporate HSE manuals and reference materials as required;
  • Schedule training and maintain training records;
  • Prepare health and safety reports and statistical information for review;
  • Organizing and developing project specific documentation using existing templates;

EPTCON is recruiting for a Manufacturing Operations Coordinator to join our team in Cambridge, Ontario. Reporting to the Manufacturing Operations Manager, you will work closely with EPTCON’s team delivering high voltage electrical contracting services.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with customer relations, operational strategizing and project planning;
  • Coordinate daily operations assisting with the commercial functions of planning, organizing, directing and improving the manufacturing process of our Protection & Control (P&C) panels, control buildings, and switchgear lineups;
  • Work closely with the project management team to drive performance and minimize risk;
  • Promote the company’s Environmental, Health and Safety policy;
  • Liaise and assist the Engineering, Project Management and Shop Foreperson teams;
  • Assist with projects in conjunction with the management team for Sales, Estimating, and Projects; including but not limited to client expectations, change notices, estimates, control, tracking issues and scheduling;
  • Monitor the Quality Assurance and Quality Control demands and ensure they are met based on the project’s needs.
  • Assist with job reporting and monthly job status reports for labor hours, productivity, cash flow, expected cost-at-completion, profit margin, and revenue;
  • Assist in the collection of outstanding payments, communication and documentation of all projects; and,
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual agreements including Federal, Provincial, and local laws, particularly applicable Occupational Health & Safety Acts/Construction Safety Act regulations and environmental requirements.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of a 3 year technology program;
  • Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) certification preferred;
  • Experience with progressive electrical projects would be an asset;
  • A general knowledge of the electrical industry and building construction, mechanical and civil components;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Creative decision making and ability to balance priorities;
  • Ability to assist with multiple projects and project teams to reach milestone targets and achieve critical success;

  • Exceptional ability to manage multiple projects and project teams to reach milestone targets and achieve critical success;
  • Thorough knowledge of contract language, change management and legal requirements of contracts

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate detailed and economical material and labor cost estimates for review by the Estimating Manager;
  • Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to support estimates;
  • Prepare and maintain appropriate documentation to support estimate preparation and review;
  • Coordinate with management and review estimates and create proposals;
  • Assist in tendering procedures and review of contracts;
  • Prepare turnover packages to Construction management;
  • Assist in the successful growth of EPTCON through accurate and complete project estimations.

Education and Experience

  • A background in electrical or civil estimating with related experience in power line/substation construction or similar;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets together with an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel;

  • Post-secondary degree, diploma or equivalent in a related discipline would be considered an asset;
